Carroll’s 2-hitter leads Tigers over Dodgers
Chatham Head scored six runs on 11 hits in its latest home game against Dalhousie

MIRAMICHI • Matt Carroll had one of his strongest mound performances of the season for the Chatham Head Tigers in their latest home date with the Dalhousie Dodgers.
The righty picked up his third win of the year for the Tigers (5-6-1) while holding the Dodgers to two hits in a 6-0 triumph for Chatham Head in Miramichi Valley Baseball League action on July 8 at Waldo Henderson Memorial Field.
Carroll’s line also included two walks and five strikeouts while going the distance on the bump.
The Tigers fell 9-8 to the Dodgers (7-3-3) on July 9 in Dalhousie and lost 12-1 to the Dodgers on July 11 on the road. They also suffered a 4-3 setback at the hands of the defending champ Tracadie Aigles on Sunday in Chatham Head.
Meanwhile, the Newcastle A&B Lumber Cardinals beat the Aigles (5-5-1) 3-1 on July 9 in Tracadie. The Cardinals (7-4-1) edged the Aigles 2-1 on July 11 at Memorial Field.
