‘Cost-effective’ housing project planned for Blackville
Developer plans to build six two-bedroom small homes next to Home Hardware

BLACKVILLE • The Miramichi River Valley rural community could eventually see a new housing development in the former village of Blackville.
The Greater Miramichi Regional Service Commission’s planning review and adjustment committee unanimously approved a similar-use variance at its May 21 meeting requested by Blackville plumber David Donahue for a proposed housing development at 76 Main St., next to the Blackville Home Hardware store.
Donahue said he plans to build six small homes on the vacant lot through his new company, David Donahue Housing Solutions. Each home will be 624 square feet and have two bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, a dining room, a kitchen, and a bathroom.
