Council approves rezoning of former church
Triplex planned for existing church building; duplex proposed for adjacent lot

A former place of worship in a Miramichi suburb has received the green light from city council to be converted into a housing development.
Council unanimously passed the second and third readings of a rezoning of the old Bethel United Church at 2843 King George Hwy. in Millbank from institutional (IN) to residential mixed low density (RML) to make way for the existing church building to be turned into a triplex and a duplex to be built on the lot behind it.
Council also unanimously approved the second and third readings of a municipal plan bylaw amendment changing the properties’ designations from institutional to residential.
