Housing, daycare planned for old nursing home
Rezoning would pave way for 50-unit project at Miramichi Senior Citizens' Home
A former nursing home in Miramichi that’s been sitting vacant for nearly four years could soon be repurposed as part of a proposed 50-unit housing project.
The Greater Miramichi Regional Service Commission’s planning review and adjustment committee unanimously approved a rezoning request for the old Miramichi Senior Citizens’ Home submitted by Belleterre Community Partners, which plans to turn the existing building into a 23-unit complex and daycare centre, add a new 20-unit building at the back of the property, and construct seven new townhouse units at the front.
