Mini-home subdivision rezoning passes first reading
Project planned for corner of Williston Drive and McKinnon Road in Douglastown

MIRAMICHI - City council has started the process of rezoning an undeveloped parcel of land in the former village of Douglastown to make way for a proposed new mini-home subdivision.
At Tuesday’s meeting, council unanimously passed the first reading of the rezoning from residential low-density (R-2) to mobile home/mini-home (RM) requested by Wesley Vye of local firm Vye Construction and Paving for the property at the corner of Williston Drive and McKinnon Road.
If approved, the rezoning will permit the company to create a mini-home subdivision immediately south of the existing Gretna Green Mini-Home Park, which it owns.
The plan would see the property subdivided to create nine new mini-home lots. One will border McKinnon Road, and the other eight will face Williston Drive. Each lot will be 549 square metres.
