Bryce Milson puts up three points for Miramichi in win over rivals from upriver
Local senior hockey fans entered the last regular-season meeting between the Miramichi Mike’s Bar and Grill Northmen and River Valley Lumberjacks expecting a hard-fought battle, and the two teams didn’t disappoint.
The Northmen (10-7-1) got the edge in the last Battle of Route 8 before the playoffs, and won the season series, with a 5-3 triumph over the Lumberjacks (11-6) in Beauséjour Senior Hockey League action before a capacity crowd on Jan. 19 at the Miramichi Civic Centre.
The Northmen also downed the Tracadie Alpines (10-7) by a 9-3 margin on Sunday in their regular-season finale at the S.A. Dionne Arena.
