Tigers defeat Aigles in walk-off victory
Chatham Head beats Tracadie in airtight contest in intermediate A baseball play

MIRAMICHI • The Chatham Head Tigers split their games last week in Miramichi Valley Baseball League action, while the Newcastle Mike’s Bar and Grill Cardinals won their only contest but fell in their first outing this week.
The Tigers (5-8) downed the Tracadie Aigles 4-3 in an eighth-inning walk-off in intermediate A play on July 9 at Waldo Henderson Memorial Field before being edged 9-8 by the Dalhousie McIntyre Refrigeration Dodgers on July 12 on the road.
Meanwhile, the Cardinals (7-7) beat the Dodgers (6-7) 7-3 on July 10 at Memorial Field. Their road game on July 11 against the league-leading Aigles (9-5) was rained out and postponed to Monday, with Tracadie prevailing by a 13-5 margin.
