Charlie Morrison, Grady Burns each chosen by Q teams at entry draft in Moncton
MONCTON • Two up-and-coming players from the Miramichi region had their names called by Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League teams at the league’s 2024 entry draft over the weekend in Moncton.
Charlie Morrison and Grady Burns each were selected by QMJHL teams, with Morrison being acquired by the Québec Remparts and Burns being chosen by the Cape Breton Eagles.
At 28th overall in the second round, Morrison was the highest local talent to be picked. The 16-year-old defenceman from Miramichi has spent the past two seasons with the Champions Hockey Academy Eagles under-16 and under-17 programs in Fredericton and was called up by the Miramichi Timberwolves of the Maritime Junior Hockey League for five regular-season games this year.
