Wolves coach won’t return next season
MHL team’s head coach position opens again after Kory Baker’s latest departure

MIRAMICHI • The Miramichi Timberwolves’ head coach position is vacant for the second time in as many off-seasons.
The Wolves issued a release on Tuesday on their Facebook page announcing that former head coach Kory Baker won’t be back behind the bench for the 2025-26 Maritime Junior Hockey League campaign.
The post thanked Baker and his family for their service to the Wolves organization over the past few seasons.
In a separate post on his personal page, Wolves president Paulin Savoie said Baker has decided to stay with his family in Finland, as his wife and daughters are from there.
“While we’re certainly disappointed not to have him back with us, we fully support and respect his choice to put family first,” Savoie said in his post.
“On behalf of the entire Miramichi Timberwolves organization, I want to personally thank Kory for stepping in last season and helping guide the team through a crucial stretch. His commitment, leadership, and passion for the game made a real difference, and we are incredibly grateful for everything he brought to the Timberwolves.”
