Woman arrested in drug trafficking probe
Police seize undisclosed quantities of cocaine, meth, and trafficking paraphernalia

MIRAMICHI • Police have arrested a 45-year-old woman from Natoaganeg First Nation as part of an investigation into cocaine and methamphetamine trafficking.
The Miramichi Police Force issued a news release on Wednesday saying the arrest was made on July 8 by members of the Miramichi and Bathurst Integrated Enforcement Units.
On July 11, Rosetta Ward of Natoaganeg (formerly known as Eel Ground) appeared in Miramichi provincial court for a bail hearing. She was released from custody and will appear in court at a later date to elect trial methods and enter pleas on the charges she’s facing, which police didn’t identify in the release.
“As a result of the arrest, police seized a quantity of suspected cocaine, as well as a quantity of methamphetamine and drug trafficking paraphernalia,” the release states.
The Integrated Enforcement Units include members of municipal police forces, the RCMP, and the provincial Department of Justice and Public Safety, who focus on crackdowns on drug trafficking, firearms offences, and organized crime.
