Chatham has won seven of its last 10 contests spanning the past four weeks

MIRAMICHI • The Chatham Miramichi Honda Ironmen are one of the New Brunswick Senior Baseball League’s hottest teams after winning seven of their last 10 games over the past four weeks.
The Ironmen (10-8) won four straight contests heading into a July 12 doubleheader at Memorial Field against the Saint John AJ’s Alpines, which they split with a 9-6 win in the first game and a 12-7 loss in the second matchup.
The league-leading Alpines (11-5) are currently the only other team in the five-team senior circuit to win seven of their last 10 outings.
Chatham defeated the Moncton Dixie Lee Mets 4-2 on July 10 at Ironmen Field after beating the Mets (6-12) 5-2 on July 6 at Kiwanis Park. Their four-game win streak started with a 9-4 victory against the two-time defending champs, the Charlottetown Gaudet’s Auto Body Islanders, on June 24 at Victoria Park, which was followed by a 9-6 triumph over the Fredericton Simpson Royals on June 26 at Royals Field.
